Please choose between this Standard Length Shaft Kit OR the Big Boy Pedal Extender<\/a> Kit when purchasing.\u00a0 EACH ONE IS A COMPLETE KIT and each one performs the same function. \u00a0The only difference is the Big Boy\u2019s longer pedal shaft provides more space between the clutch and brake pedals, for comfort (and those bigger feet).<\/p>\n

The Engineering team at Classic Bug Parts has the solution to the problem with the hook and loop design of the old clutch pedal shaft and clutch cable on Classic Volkswagens.\u00a0 On the original part there is constant wear on the clutch pedal shaft hook and on the loop of the cable end, as they pull against each other every time the clutch pedal is pressed in and out. \u00a0\u00a0The old hook and loop design is known to\u00a0break over time.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The problem is gone with this\u00a0improved Clutch Pedal Shaft design. \u00a0It works like a bearing for smooth pedal operation.<\/strong> Over a decade of testing on the new design shows no wear to the clutch pedal shaft cable locating pin.<\/p>\n

Installing the clutch cable to the newly designed Clutch Pedal Shaft is a snap, just pull the clutch cable a few inches out of the tunnel and attach the clutch cable onto the locating pin, place the flat washer on, then tighten the Nylock nut, and\u00a0finally\u00a0slide the pedal assembly back in the tunnel. It’s that easy.<\/p>\n
